The birthday of Peter Rabbit author Helen Beatrix Potter

Today is the birthday of Peter Rabbit author Helen Beatrix Potter, she was born on 28 July 1866 and died on 22 December 1943. Potter was not only an author, she was also an illustrator, mycologist and conservationists, but they will always be known as the author of the Peter Rabbit books.

Beatrix Potter was born in a privileged household, she was trained teachers, but from her childhood was a sad, as it was isolated from other children.

While growing up in Scotland and the Lake District, potters had a love for the area and painted what they saw. Her parents discouraged mental development, however; Beatrix Potter loved to study and painting of fungi, which led them to the field of mycology.

It was in the thirties Potter, she wrote the book The Tale of Peter Rabbit was the first of 23 children's books. The books made it possible that Beatrix Potter to buy a farmhouse in the Lake District, this will lead to more purchases during their life.

Beatrix Potter died in 1943, and most of their property was left to the National Trust, the beauty of the Lake District.
