Niners ready to play the game with the danger Singletary - in the short term

It is difficult to call on all interim coaching in the NFL a good, because so little success, but let us at least say that the 49ers' hiring of Mike Singletary as interim head coach has an interesting move.
Singletary is known for his leadership. As a middle Linebacker for the Chicago Bears, he was known for his intensity and anticipation. Television cameras always focused on his eyes. NFL Films has great hour of footage from Singletary return opponent back into a field trying to figure out the play. In general, Singletary was right in his diagnosis of a play.
The 49ers are counting on interim head coach Mike Singletary, in the middle to create a spark.

The takeover of the 49ers is not so simple. At 2-5, the franchise expires in place. Nolan hired Mike Martz to improve the offense, that's exactly what Martz has done. The 49ers have of 13.7 points a game last season to 22 / 6 with JT O'Sullivan at quarterback. But the defense has the 22 / 8 points a game last year to 28 this year. Nothing seems to advance with the 49ers.
Perhaps in some ways, the 49ers are trying to grasp what is happening in St. Louis. Jim Haslett, a former Pro Bowl Linebacker himself, brought a new toughness to the Rams after Scott Linehan was fired after a 0-4 start. The Rams responded after a week bye to score upset victories over the Redskins and Cowboys. If Haslett continue to win, he could turn his interim job in the permanent head coaching position for next year.
The difference compared with Singletary is not known. Haslett was a successful coach with the New Orleans Saints. He once won Coach of the Year awards. Singletary has no head coaching experience and has not been a defensive coordinator. As a position coach, Singletary is a great teacher. He brings intense style he had as a player of his students.
The big jump from position coach to head coach can be risky without coordinator experience. The 49ers are willing to risk this for nine games. They bypassed Greg Manusky, a talented defensive coordinator. They also bypassed Martz, who was a successful coach with the Rams and has one of the best offensive minds in the league.

From Haslett to Dick Jauron to Jack Del Rio and other former players who spend their time as assistants are always good head coaches faster than long-time assistant with no playing experience. Former players have a feel for the locker room and tend to know the right times to push or pull back. Singletary would have been better for this chance if he coordinator experience. Nevertheless, it is interesting to see how it will look as a head coach.

When he was a player, each designed Singletary would ultimately become a great head coach. Now has nine games to prove if these observations were right.
