The Bachelorette’: DeAnna’s choice

Ah, the mysteries of love. Who could argue — at least after watching the “After the Rose” special — that DeAnna and Jesse aren’t in love? Crazy, giddy, head-over-heels in love, with a wedding date and everything. (I see a TV special in the making.) He wasn’t the likely guy to turn out to be her soulmate, but Bachelorette Trista likewise found love with an unlikely guy from Colorado. Good luck, you crazy kids!

A couple of things have struck me as interesting, most notably the abundant comments on my previous “Bachelorette” post. Many people — all of whom seemed to be women — were not just deeply involved in DeAnna’s choice but invested the situation with their own history and emotions, and took the whole thing very personally. Which may explain why we watch after all.

But I was also interested during the after-show, when Matt Grant and fiancee Shane Lamas appeared,  to find that I had completely, 100 percent forgotten them. Hmm….
